Wow, so haven't updated the journal in over a year. Started uploading some photos from 'way back', photos of me and family cosplaying. We cosplayed from 2001-2007ish and then took a break. We're going to Otakon this year after missing the last few. My husband doesn't want to cosplay, but he'll be busy, as he's staff in the Masquerade department.  I haven't started anything yet, but I'm almost done planning I think, and then the mad two month rush of sewing will begin!

Ok, so I just learned that there will be a new event this spring, called "RenCon". It will be a renaissance convention, and will be held April 9-11th, 2010, in Maryland.

I want to go! Happens to fall on my birthday, too! I thought I would post this here, and try to spread the word about it to other fans of renaissance. Not that all that many people read this, but still. If even two more fans of ren faires see this and decide to check out the con, my work here is done

So, we went to the Maryland Ren Fest this past weekend, and had lots of fun! Sadly, once again, did not get great shots of our garb, lol. I'll have to get some better shots of my eldest and I in our garb at some point. I was just glad I got everyone's garb done in time!
I still have pieces cut out to make the detachable sleeves for my husband's doublet, as well as a cream silk to make him a new shirt. I'll work on those at some point, might not be until after Halloween though. Not sure if we'll get to the PA ren faire this year, all five of us. I am chaperoning a field trip for my daughter's grade though, which should be fun!

Ok, so I finally got around to submitting a few things. Going through old photos on the computer, I realize how BAD we are at taking photos while in our garb! So I still need to snap some photos of a few things that aren't up on here. Been a lot going on around here though, my hands have been quite full with a new baby on top of the older two girls. I have started sewing again, which feels good to get back into. I made a 'floppy cap' Fri-Sat, just needs one more thing done to it and then it's done. I plan to start my 'tavern wench' hopefully today.
Also, I will be helping my sister-in-law sew her own gown for Faire season this year, which should be lots of fun!

So, my gallery is empty for the moment. This makes me a sad panda. I realized I have like, NO pictures of the costumes I want to post up. Nor can I put them on currently, as I'm four months pregnant and they were made for, well, not being pregnant, lol. I hope to grab some time and throw them on my dressmaker's dummy, so at least I'll have *something* in my gallery. Also, I'm almost done with my Renn Faire dress for this year, so I'll be able to take photos in that at least.
This is also my first post here on DeviantArt. I'm still trying to figure out how everything works (I'm in the "ooo, all shiny and new" stage). I plan on mostly posting my Renn Faire stuffs up here. I may decide to post some cosplay pics up too, but really, Renn Faire garb is my better work, and it's what I love to do
